His Name

His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun [indeed, His name continues before the sun].  And men shall be blessed and bless themselves by Him; all nations shall call Him blessed!  Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone does wondrous things!  Blessed by His glorious name forever; let the whole earth be filled with His glory!  Amen and Amen!  Psalm 72:17-19

My prayer for you today is that you would know Him in all His glory!  That you would be quick to praise His name.  That you would know Him as the God who was, is, and always will be.  That you would know the blessings that come from following the path He shows you.  I pray that you would have eyes to see the wondrous things He is doing all around you.  And that your family would be blessed by His glorious name forever.  This is my prayer for you.

Live on Purpose

Look carefully then how you walk!  Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17

My prayer for you today is that you would be very purposeful in your walk.  That you would be on the lookout for ways that you can touch others' lives for Christ and be His hands and feet at work.  I pray that you would be careful what you do, for Christ, and because you never know who is looking to you to model Christ for them.  That you would live for God in a way that shows all those around you that you honor the great sacrifice He made for you.  That you would never forget that Jesus died on the cross to cover your sins and make the way for you to have relationship with God the Father.  I pray that you would make great use of your time and the opportunities that Christ puts before you.  That you wouldn't be discouraged by how evil the world can seem, but instead would do your part to make a little bit of a difference and let God make that deed ripple out in crazy big ways.  I pray that you would be purposeful and distinct as you show and tell others about the God who lives inside you and has made such a difference in your life.  That you would know and understand and grasp what His will for you is.  This is my prayer for you!

Choose your attitude

Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always); Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I'm sure you are thinking, "it's not easy to be happy and rejoice in everything at all times".  Sometimes what life throws at us is not easy to be thankful for.  But if you have been around me any time lately, you know that it has made a world of difference for me...to find something, at ALL times, to be thankful for.  There is always something.  We just have to be looking.

My prayer for you today is that you would see that your happiness is truly up to you; that you have the choice to see the good in things or choose a good attitude no matter what is happening around you.  I pray that you would be glad-hearted and spread that contagiously around you.  I pray that you would never cease to pray in all things.  But most of all, I pray that you would train your heart to be thankful and to actively be seeking out the things that you have in your life that you can be thankful for.  I pray that God would bless you as you choose to thank Him in all circumstances.  This is my prayer for you.

May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].  May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts!  May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.  That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!]  Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]--to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever.  Amen  Ephesians 3:6-21

Today my prayer for you is this verse.  May God grant you strength and mighty power in your innermost being from His limitless resources.  May He indwell you in a way that the whole world could see and that you would not fear anything.  May He grow your faith and assurance in and of Him.  May you be rooted deeply in love and founded securely on it.  May you have the power and strength to apprehend and understand His love--the breadth, length, height, and depth of it!  May you know from experience His love which surpasses anything we could come up with on our own.  May you be filled to overflowing with His fullness and the richness of His very Presence in and around you.  May You know that you know that you know that He is mightily and powerfully at work in you, empowering you to do so incredibly much more than you could ever dare to ask or think up.  May He show you what He has planned for you that is so far outside the box of you highest prayers, hopes, desires, or thoughts.  And may He receive the glory as others see Him at work in and around you...at all times and for all generations.  That is my prayer for you.

Fruit

But the fruit of the (Holy) Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence).  Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].  Galatians 5:22-23

Today my prayer for you is that your life would be bearing fruit...lots and lots of fruit.  I pray that you would be surrounded by the fruit of the Spirit and that others would see that fruit in you.  I pray that His presence would fill you to overflowing with love.  That you would live a life that was joyful and that you would be quick to focus on the things that make you glad.  I pray that you would be surrounded by peace and exhibit that peaceful attitude that points others to Christ.  I pray that your temper would be controllable and that you would have patience to be able to accomplish all that He desires for you.  That you would be quick to be kind to those around you.  That you would be good to others and benevolent to others.  That you would be faithful in all things.  That you would be gentle, meek, humble and allow others to be first.  That you would have self-control and that others would enjoy being around you.  I pray that when others look at your life, they see Christ in it.  This is my prayer for you.

Firm, Immovable, Abounding

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ!  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].  2 Corinthians 15:57-58

Today my prayer for you is that you would be quick to give thanks and praise to God, even in the times that are hard.  That you would remember that victory is already provided for you through Jesus, Who made you a conqueror, not a victim.  that you would stand firm, steadfast, and immovable.  That your life would abound in His work, and stand apart as His workmanship.  I pray that you would labor in the Lord with a willing heart that knows without a doubt that the work is not in vain.  That your eyes would be open to see Him moving all around you.  And that you would hear His still, small voice and know that you know that you know that He is right there on the path with you.  This is my prayer for you.

Examine yourself

Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it.  Test and prove yourselves [not Christ].  Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?  2 Corinthians 13:5

Today my prayer for you is that you would have the guts to closely look at your own life and see if you are the representation of Christ that you want to be and whether or not your life bears fruit.  I pray with you that God would grow and strengthen you in Him and be able to use your life completely for the purposes He has for you.  That you would know a full and happy life as you walk each step of the journey with Him.  I pray that you know Christ is in you and that you would shine brightly for Him everywhere that you go.  This is my prayer for you.

Alert and On Guard

Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith (your conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it).  Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength!  Let everything you do be done in love (true love to God and man as inspired by God's love for us).  1 Cor 16:13-14

Going to go preachy a little here.  How many of us are treating those around us in love.  Do we really want them to turn around and treat us the way that we are treating them?  Do you smile at those around you or do you keep your head down hoping they will just keep on going and leave you to your work in peace?  If your son or daughter comes and sits by you, do you stop what you are doing and give them a hug or do you act as if what you are doing is more important and they need to give you a minute?  If it were Jesus standing in front of you, would you tease Him the way you interact with others or would you "clean" it up?  Is what you are doing reflecting that your inner spirit truly knows the love God has for you?  Just curious.  I feel like my behavior came sometimes really come up a notch.  Like maybe I am failing to reflect Jesus the way that my heart wants to, but my mouth just doesn't always do.  Maybe its just me.  Maybe you are always proud of your interactions with others.  Mine could really use some work.  The heart intention is right, but the mouth just doesn't always keep in line.  Sorry, that was free.
Today my prayer for you is that your life would truly reflect Christ and that you would be growing more like Him each day.  I pray that you would be alert and on guard against anything that might cause someone else to stumble in their walk or that might cause you to not reflect God in a good light.  That you would be in tune to the Holy Spirit's conviction in your life and that your relationships with all those around you would be respectful.  That you would trust Him completely and jump in obedience when He corrects you or encourages you to respond differently the next time.  That you would be sold out for Him and it would be obvious to all those around you and that you would be contagious in your excitement for God.  I pray that you would act like men and women of God who are courageously growing in His strength and that everything you do would be done out of your love for Him.  That His love would inspire you to love others more fully.  This is my prayer for you.

Sowing/Reaping

[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.  Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:6,7

Today my prayer for you is that you would open yourself up to live completely sold out for God.  That you would open up your life, make yourself available, and give of yourself with reckless abandon in answer to each nudge you feel from the Father.  I pray that you would not be have a heart that thinks only of yourself, but that you would allow God to do the thinking for you and that you would hold loosely to that which He has given you so that you can share with all those around you.  That you would see your very heart as a resource He can use and share from your own life experiences to help others out that might just need a kind word, a hug, or a smile.  That you would have a purposeful heart and mind to see how many lives you might touch for Jesus each day by being His hands and feet to the people around you.  That you might see your circle of acquaintances as your personal mission field and lovingly reach out to them.  This is my prayer for you!

Steadfast

Last night's full moon

How precious is Your steadfast love, O God!  The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.  They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.  Psalm 36:7-8

Today my prayer for you is that you would feel the steadfast love of God in your life.  That you would take refuge in Him and put your full trust in Him.  That you would know that He holds you safe in the shadow of His wings, safe in His arms.  I pray that you would know His abundance in your life.  And that you would drink at the stream of His pleasures.  I pray that you would know that He delights in you and loves to provide for you...all the things that you need and even your wants.  That you would be able to see that He has your best interests at heart and that He is making the way for you.  This is my prayer for you.

Satisfied with Favor

The Lord upholds all those [of His own] who are falling and raises up all those who are bowed down.  The eyes of all who wait for You [looking, watching, expecting] and You give them their food in due season.  You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor.  Psalm 145:14-16

Today my prayer for you is that you might find your ultimate satisfaction in Him.  That you wouldn't worry about things, or over think them as I tend to do, but just rest in the knowledge that He's got this (EVERY "this").  I pray that you would be conscious of the fact that He is upholding you even when it feels you are in free-fall and that He will raise you up when you are bent low in pain or with burdens too heavy to bear.  That His presence and help would be a constant in your life, that you would know that you know that you know.  I pray that you will embrace the times of waiting and keep your eyes on Jesus as you look, watch, and expect His answers.  That you will see what He might have for you to learn in the waiting as He readies you for the next step; that the time might not be wasted.  I pray that He would open His hand to you and that you would become satisfied in His favor.  This is my prayer for you.

Numbered Hairs

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?  And [yet] not one of them is forgotten or uncared for in the presence of God.  But [even] the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Do not be struck with fear or seized with alarm; you are of greater worth than many [flocks] of sparrows.  Luke 12:6-7

My prayer for you today is that you would know the feeling of safety and that you are wrapped in God's arms.  That you would comprehend the knowledge that He knows you so well that He knows every single hair that is on your head, and how many you lost today.  That you would seek Him so that you could begin to know Him even just a fraction of how well He knows you.  That you would not be living a life of fear but rather one of peace and confidence knowing that regardless of what happens, He has your back and is making the way for you.  That you would listen to His voice and be able to discern what path He wants you to be on and when He wants you to stay and be content where you are.  I pray that every day you are given, you would choose to live in the knowledge that He has a plan for your best and the best of all those around you.  This is my prayer for you.

Crushed!

I would have you well versed and wise as to what is good and innocent and guileless as to what is evil.  And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you.  Romans 16:19b-20

Everyone has heard about your obedience and this makes me happy for you. I want you to do what is good and to avoid what is evil.  The God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. May the good will of our Lord Jesus be with you! (God's Word Version)

My prayer for you today is that you will learn what is good and wise, filling your life with those things and that you will abstain and be innocent of evil keeping the world from influencing who you are.  I pray that you would seek God in His word and speak with Him on a daily basis and that you would make Him the first priority in your life.  That you would show the value you put on your relationship with God by making it an active part of your daily life.  That you would set aside for Him part of you at your best and make time to get to know Him and listen closely to see what He says back.  That you would listen to His gentle nudges through out your day and be quick to jump into action and respond.  I pray that you would remember that our God, who is a God of peace, will soon be crushing satan underneath His feet.  That satan's time is limited and you need not fear what he can do to you, but rather be focused on what God can do through and in you.  That you would live in the victory that we find in Christ!  This is my prayer for you.

Unfathomable

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)!  And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His plans)!  For who has known the mind of the Lord and who has understood His thoughts, or who has [ever] been His counselor?  Or who has first given God anything that he might be paid back or that he could claim a recompense?  For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.  [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.]  To Him be glory forever!  Amen (so be it).  Romans 11:33-36

My prayer for you today is that you would understand that you will never be able to fully understand all of His riches, wisdom, and knowledge.  But that you can continue to seek Him, and He will continue to show you a little more, and a little more, each day, as you can handle it.  That you would understand that He is so much more that anything we can imagine and that His ways and judgments, even when we don't understand it, are right and just and what we need at the time.  That you would realize that He knows what is best for all people at all times.  I pray that you would see things the way that He sees them and that the Holy Spirit in you would help you to face all things with the understanding that you are being helped and carried through.  That you would know that you know that you know that He is in control of all things and all things are answerable to Him.  That even demons have to ask His permission before they can do something.  I pray that He would be your center!  This is my prayer for you.

Temptation

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (The Message)

You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations. 1 Cor 10:13 (Contemporary English Version)

There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape. 1 Cor 10:13 (God's Word Translation)

My prayer for you today is that you would remember you are not alone and that God will never give you more then He will help you come through.  When you feel as if you are pushed to the limit, or passed it, that you will see the way out that He provides.  That you will trust Him and live in His power.  That you will remember that nothing you face is beyond what He faced as He walked on this earth, and nothing is new.  That you would always remember that someone has been in your shoes before and that you would seek help from people who truly understand.  I pray that you would be quick to share what you have learned with others and be the pillar of strength they might need as they face their own temptations.  That you would have someone to help hold you accountable and that you would return that favor for others.  This is my prayer for you.

He will NOT fail you

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support, [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)!  [Assuredly not!]  So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is My Helper, I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified].  What can man do to me?  Heb 13:5-6

My prayer for you today is also for me.  I pray that we would not be so caught up in trying to get more money and more things that we forget what God has already so graciously blessed our lives with.  That every time we see our Bible sitting by our bed, or wherever your's is, that we would remember the great love that He has for us and the freedoms we have here in the United States.  I pray that we would know, from the tips of our toes to the bottom of our souls, that He will never fail us or give up on us or leave us unsupported.  That we will know that He will never, never, never in any degree leave us helpless or forsaken.  That we would relax in His hold that He has on our lives.  That we would know He is our Helper and provides all we need and most of our wants as well.  I pray that we would live a life that shows we believe all His promises for us...to count on them!  This is my prayer for us.

wisdom, revelation, knowledge...of HIM

[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), and [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,  Ephesians 1:17-20

This verse is my prayer for you today!  Every single word of it, I pray for you.

Forgiven

Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind).  And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.  Ephesians 4:31-32

My prayer for you today is that you would not ask God how many times you were required to forgive others, but that you would instead forgive others without limits.  That you would let go of the things that eat us up, bitterness, resentment, quarreling, slander and malice and hold tightly instead to the characteristics of Jesus Himself.  That you would be able to grasp the enormous debt that Jesus canceled for you, not because you were good for it, but because He WAS.  That you would live your life as someone who has been released from huge amounts and able to forgive others for the irritation they sometimes cause you.  I pray that you would write off, as God has done for us, the things that you wish others might be held accountable for.  That you would find, for yourself, the freedom that comes only from forgiving others and leaving vengeance to the Lord.  That you would know that God's forgiveness is free but that it's not without consequences and that His forgiveness should freely flow from you.  That you would be a forgiven person who lives a forgiven life.  This is my prayer for you and me.

On my side

Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place.  The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?  The Lord is on my side and takes my part, He is among those who help me; therefore shall I see my desire established upon those who hate me.  It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.  It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord then to put confidence in princes.  Psalm 118:5-9

Today my prayer for you is that you will call on God first and give Him the opportunity to answer the cries of your heart and listen to the freedom He wants to provide for you.  That you will fully rely on Him and have no fear.  That you would know that man can not do anything to you with out going through God and that He can teach you and bring you good through the worst that man can scheme.  I pray that you will know He is with you and has friends among you that He is using to bless your life.  That you would let go of your desire to destroy or get back at those who have hurt you and let God take care of that for you.  That you would trust fully in God, take refuge in Him and put your confidence in Him alone.  This is my prayer for you.
